Do You Have A Favorite Recipe?

This holiday season you are probably planning on attending several parties as well as perhaps hosting one. In addition, maybe there is a certain meal or item that you would like to have on hand, but you need some ideas on how to make it.

Well, the holiday foodie conversation has already begun on our forums with a recent request for egg nog recipe ideas. As you may know, egg nog can be a problem to make from scratch — salmonella poisoning can be a real threat — but there is a way around all of that. Additionally, always remember that what you make on your own and serve to your pax can make you liable in the event that something goes awry. Still, maybe you have a favorite recipe that you would like to share for personal use. If so, feel free to post that information on our Inflight Services board.

In Your Travels…

As a cabin crewmember, you get to fly to many interesting and exotic destinations around the world. While away, do you have the time to take some side trips to explore the area? Yes, time is of the essence and you don’t want to be too far away from the aircraft. Yet, if there is a chance to sample local culture, you probably would jump at it.

If you were to travel to Peru, you might want to explore Machu Picchu, the famous Inca city high above the Peruvian Andean mountains. During the brief existence of the Inca Empire, the Incans created architectural marvels exceeding that of their European coevals. The Peruvian government may soon restrict access to the city [pictured] to protect the site, so make sure you get to see it before that happens.

Another must see attraction is the Pyramids of Egypt. As with the Incas, the Egyptians left their stamp on this world, a mark that has endured for centuries.

Where can you find out detailed information before you take your next trip? On Open Travel Info, a website offering guides, photos, and forums that can enrich your next trip. I recently discovered this site and it has the type of information world travelers want, going beyond the tourist trap information featured on some other sites. Check it out!

What’s In A Rank?

Recently, I heard from a forum participant who did not understand why she was labeled as a “Newbie” when she was clearly a veteran corporate flier. I explained to her that the forum is set up by ranks, with anyone having less than ten posts sporting the “Newbie” label, which has nothing to do with length of flight service. When forum members reach their 10th post their rank is automatically changed to “Contest Eligible,” which is the next highest of the forum’s seven levels.

Although we are a forum for corporate flight attendants, the rank designation has nothing to do with how long someone has been flying. Clearly, we have people on the site who have reached the highest rank level — Business Jet Owner — who have never once worked as a cabin crewmember. You know those people as three of your moderators: Doc Sullivan, Midnight Mike, as well as Yours Truly.

Ranks serve two purposes: to identify those who meet the minimum contest criteria of ten posts and to inject some fun into the community. Most seasoned forums use ranks simply as a way to recognize member participation.

And They’re Off!

Wow, is it just me or has there been a boom in flying opportunities for corporate flight attendant newbies? At last count, there must have been five people who are in the process of getting their first flight including islandgirl and NWS2002.

For those of you who have waited for your first flight in what seems to be ages, keep at it as something is bound to turn up especially now as this is the busiest season for many jet operators. Please keep us posted on your progress too…your corporate flight attendant family cares and wants to keep tabs on just how things are going for you.

Cozy Winter Comfort Package

It’s here! The ImpressionsInFlight.com “Cozy Winter Comfort Package” has been posted on our forums and is now “live” and ready for your entry.

Kim and Jennifer, the ladies who are behind the company are generously providing this package to someone in the USA or Canada. If you are looking for aviation, galley, and cabin supplies for your next trip, then ImpressionsInflight.com is certainly worth paying a visit.

They carry such passenger amenities like shoe shine kits and blankets; service items such as towels and placemats; and much, more more. I like their Specials page where you can find so many things which have been valued priced.

Happy Thanksgiving to You and Yours!

Today is the Thanksgiving holiday for those of us in the US. Best wishes for a great day and please don’t forget to count your many blessings.

Special thanks to all of my forum, blog, and internet friends. You truly have made being online worth it!

Do You Have Your 10?

If you do not have the minimum 10 posts on our forums, then you cannot participate in our contests. We require this minimum amount to make sure that only dedicated forum users have a chance for a prize. We [the moderators and myself] think that is only fair that the people who support our site get a shot at our prizes.

ImpressionsInFlight.Com will be hosting our next contest which should be up and running by this coming Monday. I promise you that it is a good one, so make sure that you have your 10 before entering.
